Designs for pictures for 2 great little girls. Designs were done in Illustrator and cut using a Silhouette Cameo, they were framed with Ikea Ribba Frames. I wanted designs that were similar but not the same so I used the same theme of a night sky and some common elements but the designs have a different main element and of course a different name to personalise them. I wanted them to look quirky and homemade so used the hanging stars as they remind me of those homemade paper cut theatres we used to have when we were little. The girls were delighted with their personalised gifts. © Cathy Bellamy
An unused design for the first page of my portfolio presentation. In the end I decided that the colours were too strong and that they would overpower the portfolio pieces themselves. So I redesigned the presentation to have a lighter touch (you can see it in my blog) however I do still like the image of the lily breaking down into pixels and might use it for something else.

Part of a portfolio presentation to showcase my work. Images are the first and last pages and some detail. I used a colour swatch motif and a grid formation to show each piece of work to its best advantage. On the first and last pages I introduced an original pattern to invigorate the text.

A poster for the NHS involvement Centre, animated gif for social media and a postcard design.
The work is still in progress so the images and text are samples rather than the real experiences that will eventually be featured. The brief was to develop materials to encourage service users to share their experiences, both good and bad, of the NHS in order to improve the overall care. Existing materials used a sky and grass background so I took that aspect but moved away from the more corporate imagery to make the materials more friendly and cheerful.
The design began with clouds and developed into a hanging mobile to reinforce the message that the process of change and improvement starts with the experience of the service user.

Tri fold business card for a photographer. The card is a bespoke size arrived at in discussions with the client who wanted the card to be easy to tuck in a pocket but give as much room as possible to showcase his work. We agreed on a tri-fold card that, when folded, is the same size of an average mobile phone. The photographer specialises in candid portraits where his aim is to capture the true likeness of the subject. He wanted a business card with a light touch showing his work to the best advantage but he also wanted to use it to expand into the wedding market. So I chose images that used soft pastel colours and complimented these with a soft grey blue back. The circle graphics are lightly applied and can be used as a watermark to protect his copyright.

Design and print for an invite to a camping birthday party. The print is double layered as the tent flaps open to reveal the details of the party. The design has also been converted into an interactive gif for social media invites.

Logo design for Mona Hallam in her new venture as a life coach. Mona wanted a logo that reflected the personal growth and fresh thinking that her services as a life coach could help her clients achieve. The grass motif will be expanded for use on her website and on stationery as her business develops.

Sherwood Art Week 2016 brochure, posters and leaflets. Working with the SAW committee to design and compile the programme of events for Sherwood Art week. The cover illustration is by Corinna Rothwell and the brochure and poster designs were based on the illustration, using the colours and graphic style throughout.
